DEBBY MCDONALD TO JOIN MCNEIL MUSIC CENTER

Well-known Somerset pianist and accompanist, Debby McDonald, will begin teaching piano at McNeil Music Center the third week in April.  

“Debby has been a vital part of what we do here already,” said Maria McNeil, CEO and Artistic Director of McNeil Music Center.  “She has been adding her expertise to our recitals and performances for several years, so becoming a part of our teaching staff is an easy and natural fit.  We are delighted she is joining us this way.”

MCNEIL MUSIC CENTER AWARDS JOSH DALTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The McNeil Music Center (MMC) has awarded this year’s Josh Dalton Memorial Scholarship to Somerset resident, Maxine Baughman.  The scholarship will allow Baughman to enroll in a comprehensive, nine-month program at MMC.

MCNEIL MUSIC CENTER MOVES TO OLD CITY HALL

With approximately 100 students and counting, McNeil Music Center (MMC) has known for a while that it needed more space. After carefully weighing several options in the Downtown Somerset area, MMC is moving to Old City Hall in September.

“We are so excited for this opportunity,” said Maria McNeil, MMC’s CEO and Artistic Director. “This space will allow us to have more practice rooms, more space for parents and family members to wait in, and a place for recitals and special events.”

THOMAS HUDSON JOINS MCNEIL MUSIC CENTER STAFF FOR THE SUMMER

Former McNeil Music Center (MMC) violin student, Thomas Hudson, is joining the MMC staff as a violin instructor through August. Working closely with his former violin instructor, Bill McNeil, Hudson will be teaching violin and gaining valuable experience in the field of music education.

MCNEIL MUSIC CENTER FINDS ITS BEAT THROUGH TWO INSTRUCTORS

McNeil Music Center (MMC) is celebrating the one-year anniversary of instructor, Carol Esch, and welcoming Bradley Gilmore to its teaching roster. And although their performance styles are very diverse, both Esch and Gilmore say that they love what percussion instruments have done for them – from early childhood all the way to today.

KEVIN DALTON CELEBRATES ONE YEAR AT MCNEIL MUSIC CENTER

Well-known singer/songwriter, Kevin Dalton, says he remembers where he was standing when he heard the McNeil Music Center (MMC) students perform at the second Winter Music Showcase (in 2015).
