Saxophone Instructor

Jamey Robinson hails from Mount Vernon, KY and has been playing saxophone for over 20 years. He earned his bachelors in music performance from the University of the Cumberlands studying jazz and improvisation under the tutelage of Professor David Threlkeld. Jamey is an avid lover of the art of jazz and blues music, programming and hosting a jazz themed radio show for 3 years on his campus station WCCR 94.5 FM called Jamey's Jazz Joint (aka the Triple J Show). He has taught music lessons in the Whitley, Pikeville, and Rockcastle County schools; specializing in woodwind instruments. After graduating, Jamey became a freelance musician and has performed with several musical acts over the years including the Diane Jobe Blues Band, The London Community Jazz Orchestra, The Somerset Community Jazz Orchestra, Madison Lewis, Kevin Dalton, The Lake Cumberland Blues Society, Spooky Fox, The Cornbread Mafia, The Cat Daddies, The Blue Crawdads, Boscoe France, Rachel Crowe, Jonathan New, Jeff Taylor & the Kentucky Hermits, DJ Rice, The Jimmy D Seville Band, Lightnin' Rod & The Thunderbolts, Jamey Aebersold, Greg Abate, Miss Direction, The June Burton Experience, and his current band Random Sample.
