Brittany LaBelle

Instructor:

Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, Saxophone & French Horn

Originally from Kenosha, WI, I moved to Somerset, KY when I was in middle school where I started learning to play my first instrument, the flute. I continued to play flute throughout high school and learned other instruments such as the alto saxophone which I played in Jazz Band. In high school I was a part of many music ensembles including Marching Band, Jazz Band, Winter Drumline and Winter Guard. After high school I attended Berea College where I received my Bachelors Degree in Music Education with an Instrumental Emphasis. While at Berea I was a part of the Wind and Jazz Ensembles, Flute ensemble, and did guest performances with other groups such as the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Women’s Chorus. After Berea I accepted a position as the Assistant Band Director at Pulaski County High School in Somerset, KY, where I teach Arts and Humanities courses and Band. I also direct numerous ensembles after school such as Flute Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble. Currently I am a part of a community Flute Orchestra called the Firebird Chamber Ensemble located in Lexington, KY. I love being able to perform and make music with others! One of my mentor teachers always said “Make Music, Have Fun!” right before every concert and this is a motto I strive to live by as a Music Educator!
