Amanda White, mezzo-soprano, is a middle school Music, Drama, and Choir teacher for the Casey County School district.  Amanda is originally from McCreary County, KY, where she grew up very active in her church choir and youth group choir.  She auditioned and made the Kentucky Music Educators Association All State Choir twice in middle school, and twice in high school, obtaining a perfect sight-reading score her senior year.  She attended the University of
the Cumberlands and received her Bachelor of Music Education degree with a minor in Chemistry.  During this time, Amanda was a member of the University of the Cumberlands Chamber Choir and Chorale.  During her junior year of college, Amanda was chosen to be a
member of the Kentucky All Collegiate Choir.  She graduated with honors. Shortly after graduating, Amanda married her high school sweetheart and currently has two children, ages 8 and 4. Since graduating with her Bachelor’s degree, she has also obtained a Master of Education with a music emphasis, and is currently working on her Rank 1 in School Leadership. She has been teaching in Casey County for five years, and has built the Choir program from seven students up to fifty. Her students are the first in Casey County who has auditioned and made the SKMA All Festival Choir and the KMEA All State Choir. Her goals for her students go beyond just learning the fundamentals and basics of singing, but she helps her students learn more about themselves through the joy and beauty of music and singing.
