Why take Private Music Lessons?
While music lessons help prepare children to join their school’s choir, band or orchestra, music education is a powerful tool in childhood development. Studies show that students who had music lessons performed better on standardized tests. Also, children who have taken music lessons tend to grow up having better problem solving skills, pay better attention to detail and are comfortable with leadership roles.
But private music lessons aren't just for children. At MMC, we encourage all ages to dive into lessons. Research has shown that music can be a healing tool that nurtures those that have been in a traumatic experience. Music can also be an activity that brings families together when everyone is a different age. Music lessons can be done at any age and in fact can assists us allwith aging gracefully. Here at MMC we are here to support whatever journey you are on.

What is performance coaching?
Even though McNeil Music Center is a music school, we understand that students wanting to share their music may want to enhance their performance skills. We strongly encourage our students to do a performance coaching session as they get closer to recitals or other outside performances.
